Product Overview
We are pleased to introduce our NPT Stainless Steel Ball Valve. This ball valve is manufactured from 316, 304, and other stainless steel materials, and is specifically designed for environments requiring precise fluid control. The NPT threaded connection offers excellent sealing performance and ensures stable and reliable operation under various working conditions. It is an essential component for industrial systems.
Advantages of NPT Thread and Differences from Other Threads
- Advantages of NPT Thread
– Sealing Performance: The NPT (National Pipe Thread) features a tapered design that provides excellent sealing performance. The threads create a self-sealing effect when connected, reducing the risk of leakage.
– Ease of Installation: The NPT threaded connection is straightforward and easy to install. No additional sealing gasket is required, as the thread’s compression effect ensures a good seal.
– Wide Application: NPT threads are widely used in various industries, including oil, natural gas, and chemicals, known for their outstanding performance and strong adaptability.
- Differences from Other Thread Types
– BSP (British Standard Pipe) Thread
– Features: BSP threads include BSPP (parallel thread) and BSPT (tapered thread). BSPP uses sealing gaskets for sealing and is suitable for various threaded connections. BSPT has self-sealing properties similar to NPT threads.
– Difference from NPT: NPT threads are tapered at a 60-degree angle, while BSPT threads are tapered at a 55-degree angle. NPT and BSP threads are not compatible and require careful installation.
– PT (Pipe Thread)
– Features: PT thread (Japanese pipe thread) is similar to BSPT, featuring a tapered design suitable for high-sealing performance applications.
– Difference from NPT: PT threads have a 55-degree angle, whereas NPT threads have a 60-degree angle. The two are not interchangeable.
– NPS (National Pipe Straight) Thread
– Features: NPS threads have a straight thread design and are mainly used where precise mechanical fitting is required. They can be used with NPT threads but cannot directly replace them.
– Difference from NPT: NPS threads lack self-sealing properties and require sealing gaskets or tapes for sealing.
– JIS (Japanese Industrial Standards) Thread
– Features: JIS threads follow Japanese standards and are used for equipment and pipes in Japan and related regions.
– Difference from NPT: JIS threads differ in design and standards from NPT threads and are not typically interchangeable.
– DIN (Deutsches Institut für Normung) Thread
– Features: DIN threads are German standard threads used in various industrial applications and include many types of pipe threads.
– Difference from NPT: DIN threads have different design standards and angles compared to NPT threads and are not interchangeable.
